Webinar Focus

This webinar focuses on recognising signs of tongue tie across all age groups from infants to adults and understanding how Craniosacral Therapy (CST) can support clients with tongue tie related challenges.

Topics include:

  • Identifying symptoms of tongue tie in babies, children, and adults
  • Practical CST tools to assess and support these presentations
  • Enhancing feeding, oral function, and wellbeing through CST

(Tip: Have some raisins handy during the Zoom session!)

Key Learning Outcomes

Participants will:

  • Learn to identify key signs of tongue tie in infants
  • Try out an exercise to check for tongue tie in children and adults
  • Understand how CST can support oral function and nervous system regulation
  • Gain confidence in working with tongue tie presentations in a clinical setting

About the Presenter: Orla Illien

Orla Illien is an experienced Craniosacral Therapist based in South Galway with over 20 years of clinical practice. She specialises in supporting infants, children, and adults with tongue tie using gentle CST techniques to restore balance, improve oral function, and relieve tension patterns.

Orla is widely recognised as one of Ireland’s leading practitioners in this area, working closely with families to provide compassionate, non-invasive care. Her clinical expertise, especially in infant feeding and oral health, has earned her the trust of both parents and medical professionals.

Beyond her private practice, Orla is also the Director of the Upledger Institute Ireland and serves as a CST Study Group Leader, mentoring practitioners and students in the field. Her work reflects a deep commitment to healing, learning, and advancing the CST profession.
