Continuous Professional Development

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) allows Craniosacral Therapists to maintain, enhance, and expand their professional competency. CPD is essential for safeguarding clients, upholding high standards, and maintaining the integrity of the profession.

Craniosacral Ireland requires all members to undertake regular CPD, maintain an accurate CPD record, and comply with the organisation’s CPD requirements in order to retain membership.

CPD is not simply about attending events to meet minimum requirements — it is a meaningful process of learning, reflection, and contribution. CPD can happen through many formats: receiving or creating knowledge, structured training or informal experiences, and through personal or professional development.

CPD Requirements for Members

  • A minimum of 20 CPD points must be earned annually
  • Each activity has a maximum annual point limit (see table below)
  • Only record activities completed within the last 12 months
  • The CPD form must be completed in one session on the Membership Platform — it cannot be saved and returned to later
  • Your CPD credential expires every year on 31st October. A new CPD Credential must be submitted from 1st October, and must be completed by 30th October to maintain active membership.
  • You may upload certificates as evidence; if not uploaded, please retain them in case of audit
  • A CPD preparation form is available for download to help you prepare before online submission
  • Members may be randomly selected for audit, so it is recommended that you maintain a dedicated CPD folder
